Job Description:      

Providing day-to-day support for the Trade Monitoring Pilot:
- Understanding the energy commodity trading data in the database
- Resolving issues related to data availability
- Resolving data integrity issues
- Supporting existing (and possibly creating new) analytical presentations using the visualization tool Spotfire?
- Documenting support processes and other information valuable to current & future support of the application
- Utilizing support tools such as Clearquest & Service Center
- Serving as the liaison to the IT Support organization
- As time permits, participating in development activities for Phase B of the project (full implementation)

This position will have significant interaction with trading & compliance personnel. They will be working closely with the business to translate business requirements into solutions and work closely with the development teams to meet business needs for both the Pilot and Phase B of the project.

POSITION DESCRIPTIONDIMENSIONS:
The Business Analyst would be an Individual Contributor, working closely with the Business and with IT.
The position will have direct interaction with the project team and first-line support services.
This position will work directly with Shell compliance business team members to support and extend new analytical capabilities.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Minimum of 5 years of experience performing business analysis activities.

Demonstrates the following qualifications:
- Ability to write complex SQL statements and do SQL development
- Able to perform analysis on large amounts of complex data
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience performing business analysis activities in support of an Energy Trading organization is preferred
- Domain Expertise in Energy Commodity Trading
- Experience with Trading Market Data / Compliance analysis is a preferred
- Experience with decision support systems, technologies and techniques
- Experience with data warehousing, data marts and other analytical data solutions
- Experience interfacing with various functional and technical groups
- Customer Service Excellence
- Experience working in a support role
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to make and keep timeline commitments
