Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Director of The Writing Center is responsible for a facility that doubles as a writing tutorial center and a computer lab for reading and writing. The Director is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training peer tutors for the center, as well as supervising student assistants and tutoring students when necessary. The position also requires coordinating with faculty to provide appropriate services to students and faculty, which includes conducting appropriate orientations and workshops. 

Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English or a related field is required. Previous teaching experience is required. Experience working in a reading or writing lab in an educational setting is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in English or a related field. Experience teaching developmental education. Experience or education in tutoring second-language students. Experience or education in working with students with learning disabilities. Experience managing a reading or writing center in a higher education setting. Basic understanding of network configuration and software compatibility.
