Position Description
Baker Hughes, Inc. is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support the delivery of their US Health & Welfare (H&W) benefit plans. Responsibilities include managing the daily administration and delivery of the Company’s H&W plans and the outsourced benefits administration vendor. The position reports to the US H&W Benefits Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
§ Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure administration accuracy, strong plan performance, regulatory compliance and cost containment
§ Support the development of strategy and design of H&W benefit programs
§ Provide internal consulting, subject matter expertise, benchmarking and oversight with respect to the H&W benefits program
§ Provide guidance and direction for the processing of life events, including death, disability, leave of absence, retirement, QMSCO/QDRO and powers of attorney
§ Coordinate/participate in annual compliance and audit activities
§ Review and edit H&W benefits communications
§ Coordinate with HR and vendors to deliver benefits to employees
§ Resolve benefits issues related to employee or management inquiries, including appeals; interact with finance and legal functions as necessary
§ Identify and recommend benefit outsourcing process improvements
§ Keep abreast of current benefit trends and participate in H&W benefits surveys to ensure parity with competitive market practices
§ Handle special projects, as assigned
Skill Requirements:
§ Working knowledge of regulatory and legislative issues impacting H&W plans
§ Strong interpersonal and project management skills
§ Commitment to customer service and ability to work in team-oriented environment
§ Demonstrated success with vendor management
§ Experience working in diverse and changing environments
§ Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct benefit meetings to all levels of employees
Education, Experience and Training:
Bachelor's Degree. 5+ years experience in H&W benefits design and administration.
