HR Manager, Sugar Land, TX
A leading providor of plant technical personnel is seeking a Human Resources Manager in Sugar Land, TX.
The HR Manager will be a key member of the Manpower and Oil & Gas operations team, providing world class Human Resource services. Compliance, change agility, advanced conflict resolution, employee relations experience, and work time regulations to a client group of some 350 employees. Working regionally in support of 3 area managers, this individual will travel approximately 30% of the time.
Key areas of focus include timely resolution of employee relation matters, development and implementation of company policies and procedures, talent development, performance and compensation management.
Requirements include:
- Connection with the business, preferably within the petroleum industry and/or
environmental.
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
- PHR/SPHR preferred
- Recent military experience (within 4 years), Officer preferred
- Demonstrated business acumen with the desire to learn and evolve with a growth-
oriented business model.
- Proven project management skills in both leading efforts and being a team member.
- - Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to implement processes and procedures.
- Must possess excellent time and people management skills in order to meet tight dead
lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead by example and drive a culture of accountability and integrity.
- Resolve Employee Relations matters while serving in an Ombudsmen capacity.
- Lead investigations and represent the company in relevant legal matters relating to
unemployment; workers compensation; investigations; civil suits resulting from claims of
discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, etc.
- Ensure Company is in compliance with the applicable federal and local employment regulations
for the region. Develop and perform routine compliance audits.
- Partner with the training, recruitment, and benefits team to train and advise segment
management in hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, sexual
harassment and other related HR topics.
- Provide administration of the performance appraisal and compensation program to ensure
effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the company.
- Create a coaching environment for employees and managers.
- Responsible for development and implementation of Employee Awards/Recognition program.
Coordinate company sponsored employee teaming events.
