Manager, EEO Compliance
With minimal supervision, monitors and ensures Company’s corporate and worksite equal employment opportunity (EEO) compliance with state and federal laws; researches, develops, and implements policy, procedures and training programs for supervisors and managers; oversees processing of every EEO charge; prepares EEO charge responses, gathers information from client, responds to investigator calls, and follows charges through final resolution, including hearing preparation and appearance; prepares cases for and represents Administaff at EEOC hearings and mediations and researches and interprets federal law, state regulations, and precedent cases in preparation of employer defense of charges. Much decision-making is attached to this position and is governed by procedures and guidelines with Company-wide impact.
Job Duties:
• Provides Company leadership in the EEO compliance area and recommends, revises and implements proposals and changes in policies and procedures while assuring the policies and procedures are in compliance with all related laws and regulations as well as the Company philosophy and mission.
• Supervises assigned support staff, manages the departmental budget and sets budgetary goals for fiscal year. Directs EEO Compliance Specialists by establishing performance goals and developing performance evaluations as well as disciplinary measures when necessary. Also assists in selection of candidates for open positions within department and coordinates and assigns workload to EEO Specialists.
• Manages the maintenance of employment regulations and policies for non-exempt and exempt professional employees in EEO Compliance Department.
• Monitors and ensures Company’s equal employment opportunity (EEO) compliance with state and federal laws. Responsible for reporting applicant requirements for Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) compliance.
• Researches, develops, and implements policy, procedures and training programs for supervisors and managers addressing EEO compliance.
• Counsels employees on the discrimination complaint processing system in accordance with EEO laws and regulations. Investigates and responds to EEOC charges and complaints of discrimination and sexual harassment. Mediates employee discrimination and grievance issues.
• Prepares EEO charge responses, gathers information, responds to investigator calls, and follows charges through final resolution, including hearing and mediation preparation and appearance.
• Prepares cases for and represents Administaff at EEOC hearings and mediations. Provides documentation to EEOC to successfully defend any charges made against Company. Serves as primary representative for Administaff at both in-person and telephone hearings.
• Provides personnel employment information and verification, questions witnesses and claimant to ascertain facts of discrimination, grievance and presents closing summary statement of employer's position to EEOC officer. Case preparation for hearings involves document gathering and organization, defense strategies and witness appearances.
• If appropriate, refers charge/action to Legal Department to research and interpret federal law, state regulations, and precedent cases in preparation of employer defense of charges.
• Acts as primary contact for clients, employees, state agencies, and corporate supervisors/departments regarding EEO questions or problems.
• Reviews Company’s policy on EEO Laws and regulations with on-site supervisors.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required and preferably a Masters degree, in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
• 10-12 years EEO experience, with heavy emphasis on investigation and resolution of complaints and charges.
• Prepares clear, concise, thorough and grammatically correct written reports, letters, memoranda, policies, and other written documents; works independently under general supervision; communicates tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing; and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
• Adheres to principals, practices and procedures of personnel administration and organizational development, including methods and techniques of employee counseling, management and supervisory procedures and practices; applies federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances and policies.
• Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, and composition skills at a level necessary for satisfactory job performance; word processing in Word.
• Communicates clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
