SCOPE:
Under minimal supervision leads all aspects of product life-cycle management of a Healthcare Informatics product. Enhances existing product offerings to provide new information based products and services that exceed customer expectations and are aligned with US Oncology strategic objectives. Creativity and latitude are expected. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Works closely with internal business unit leaders to understand business needs and priorities as they relate to informatics products. Synthesizes business information, along with internal, market and competitive information into a clear, prioritized requirements list. Conducts industry assessment to make recommendations relative to market sizing and quantifying of informatics market opportunities and works with business lines to ensure alignment.
· Creates, maintains, and presents internal and external product roadmaps that are ROI and market driven.
· Develops product strategy elements including business cases, pricing, portfolio and buy/build/partner direction as well as providing support for management of availability release processes. Writes and presents product position documents.
· Consults with internal customers for requirements gathering, product refinement and market knowledge. Documents and presents market requirements.
· Analyzes the existing product and services portfolio in light of requirements and drives improved specifications through market research, brainstorming, and development sessions with internal business unit clients, prospects and business unit leaders to develop competitive differentiation and innovation in new products within available time constraints and resources.
· Analyzes and assesses output to ensure that the needs of customers, prospects, partners and markets are in fact built and delivered to a high level of satisfaction.
· Uses operational excellence analytics to enhance existing products and services and identify new areas of growth.
· Collaborates with marketing in the development and execution of product launch and communication strategies.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent required. Masters degree preferred. Minimum of six (6) years of Healthcare Informatics or data analysis experience required with two (2) years of product development experience in a clinical, statistical or technological environment required. Familiarity with operational excellence concepts preferred. Experience with requirements gathering and documentation for software or product management activities as well as analyzing marketing and/or operating data required. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Office Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel) and SAS required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require infrequent travel – less then 10% travel to client engagements or conferences.
