POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Teach course in Linux system administration, including strong skills and experience in the following areas:
· Installation of RHEL, Fedora Core 6, UNIX or SUSE Linux
· Networking and operating Linux with other systems
· Performing Linux system administration
· Linux networking and security administration
· Hardware redundancy and fault tolerance
· Configuration of the Linux shell and utilities
· Troubleshooting Linux
· Managing system resources, system logging, backing up system data, controlling processes, and the printing system
· Creating scripts and automated procedures
· Shell programming
· Creating and editing of files
PREFERRED:
Linux System Administration Certification
REQUIREMENTS:
o Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Networking or a minimum of 18 advanced hours with a concentration in network engineering with a master’s degree
o Teaching or training experience in Linux or Unix
o Four plus years related industry experience for the above skills in job description
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED: Experience in a proprietary field.
