DEPARTMENT: Computer Network Engineering/Cisco Network Academy Program

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Teach course in Cisco networking, including strong skills and experience in the following:

 

o Network technologies, including network components, physical specifications, topology, architecture, the OSI model and other networking standards, LANS, WANS and troubleshooting methodologies

o User and group specifications, security, data storage management

o Selection, installation, and troubleshooting routers, switches and VLANS

o Solid knowledge and theory of networking, WAN/LAN connectivity and circuits

 

REQUIREMENTS:

o Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Networking, or a minimum of 18 advanced hours with a concentration in network engineering with a master's degree

o CCNA certification

o Four plus years related industry experience for the above skills in position description

o Hands-on experience with configuration, installation, and trouble-shooting LANs,

   WANs, VLANs, routers/commands, switches, hubs, filters, ports and domains

o Teaching or training experience in Cisco

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

PREFERRED: Experience in proprietary field; CCAI certification
